The Centre for Digital Data Research is a cross-University catalyst for interdisciplinary digital research. Empowering bold innovation through AI, Data Science and advanced computational expertise to turn complex data and ideas into real-world impact

The Centre for Digital Data Research is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technical professionals and academics dedicated to helping researchers overcome the technical challenges that can limit or slow their work.

We provide hands-on support alongside access to advanced digital infrastructure, enabling researchers to focus on what matters most: their research.

Our expertise spans data analytics, research software engineering, statistics and digital infrastructure. We support a wide range of requirements, including compute, data storage, web hosting, source code management, and AI and machine learning workflows.

By combining specialist knowledge with robust, scalable technology, we enable researchers across all disciplines to tackle complex problems and accelerate discovery. The CDDR is the central point of access for digital research capabilities, empowering ambitious research now and into the future.

Our impact

We’re already supporting cloud research computing to drive our digital research agenda. This has accelerated projects with real-world impact, like understanding Parkinson’s disease and assessing the environmental effects of air travel, attracting well over £1M of research funding.
